Magento Ajax Cart Preview Extension

For a good year now we have been including an AJAX cart preview function on most of our clients websites, you’ll see it used more and more on ecommerce sites. Traditionally customers would be diverted to the cart or checkout page of a website then they added a product to their cart, the problem with this is that it does not encourage them to continue shopping with you. We have proven that our AJAX cart module has increased average order values on many of the sites using it.

It’s particularly useful if you allow your customers to buy direct from a category or product listing page, so they can add more than one product to their cart without leaving the page.

Customers can also preview their cart contents at anytime by simply rolling over the ‘my cart’ link at the top of the website.

We have packaged this functionality as a Magento extension so it can be installed on any Magento website and used by all!

The extension comes with default styling in line with the default Magento website design, but comes with its own CSS to allow it to fit in with any design.

Also here is a screenshot of the cart preview when it has been rolled over, you will see that it brings in the product thumbnails, name, price and quantity, further more it also displays the total cart item quantity and cost.

    This is a great extension. We’d had good comments from our customers who use it on our site http://www.paddockspares.com. Many of them place orders with lots of products so it’s great for them not to be directed to the checkout every time they add to the basket.

    How do you handle cross-sells with this extension?

      Hi Rookie, At the moment support for Up-sell / Cross-sell is provided only in the standard Magento Cart, we are planning on adding this to the preview soon though.
